Recent Microtel Raton Review: "We were traveling to Colorado and just needed to stop for the night, so that's how we ended up in Raton, NM at this hotel. This appears to be a very new hotel and it was very nice. They had free Wi-Fi and excellent TV service (might have been DirectTVr) so my kids had all the comforts of home. It was right next to the Dairy Queen and that was really  convenient - we just walked over there for dinner after we got checked in. I don't know what else is going on in Raton, NM, but this place was exactly what we needed and actually exceeded my expectations. It was 10 hours from Dallas/Ft. Worth and a great place to stop for the night while traveling to Colorado. From Raton, you're 8 miles from Colorado but it was much cheaper to stay in Raton than across the border in CO. If I had any complaint about this Microtel, it would be that the breakfast was not that great - the coffee was weak and I think the cereals were generic. But it wasn't bad so that's not much of a complaint. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Microtel Inn And Suites - Raton to others who are traveling that way!"
