| For the location and type of hotel, a quick stay over on the road, this was a surprisingly nice choice. The room was very clean and the bedding was fresh and up to date. Cable tv was very good as was internet. Breakfast was limited, but just what they said it was - continental. I would stop here again for sure. |

| The staff at the hotel were helpful and polite. The room was vacuumed well but there were stains on the chairs and on the bed cover (the thing that is laid across the bottom of the bed.) There were also some brown marks on the wall by the toilet paper holder that were probably nothing significant but because of the location were troubling. There is very insubstantial insulation between the rooms so noises travel. When someone came in at 2:00 p.m. to the room next door I thought the closet in my room was opening. |

| If you're staying a night in Raton, I'd definitely stay here. I haven't stayed in any other hotels there, but this one was super nice, and they even had free soup for dinner in the lobby. The staff was great, and the room was very nice. I'll stay there the next time I'm going through. |

| Nothing fancy, but this was a nice hotel to stay in when we passed through Raton. The clerk was very friendly and helpful. They offered a soup in the lobby in the evening (I did not partake, but a nice, homey gesture). The room was very clean and comfortable, the beds were comfortable too. We were on the 2nd floor, west side of the building (next to the Denny's) and I think it was the quietest hotel room I've ever been in. The only odd thing was the wall of mirrors at the head of the bed - a strange decorator's choice. The Denny's next door had good service and good food, too. I would definitely stay here again. |

| Good quality of rooms.

| We were so impressed with the Microtel Inn we stayed in at Raton New Mexico, it was wonderful. We didn't get in til late and we were tired and the lady at the desk was so nice and so gracious. Then when we got into the room, we were equally impressed with the room itself. We were so pleased that when we got to Montrose Colorado, we looked to find ANOTHER Microtel Inn And Suities but they did not have one there and we were so disappointed! I would most definitely look for these hotels from now on when we travel. |

| We were traveling to Colorado and just needed to stop for the night, so that's how we ended up in Raton, NM at this hotel. This appears to be a very new hotel and it was very nice. They had free Wi-Fi and excellent TV service (might have been DirectTV?) so my kids had all the comforts of home. It was right next to the Dairy Queen and that was really convenient - we just walked over there for dinner after we got checked in.
I don't know what else is going on in Raton, NM, but this place was exactly what we needed and actually exceeded my expectations. It was 10 hours from Dallas/Ft. Worth and a great place to stop for the night while traveling to Colorado. From Raton, you're 8 miles from Colorado but it was much cheaper to stay in Raton than across the border in CO.
If I had any complaint about this Microtel, it would be that the breakfast was not that great - the coffee was weak and I think the cereals were generic. But it wasn't bad so that's not much of a complaint.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Microtel Inn And Suites - Raton to others who are traveling that way! |
